-2ND YEAR-
PROFESSIONAL DESIGN PRACTICE
MORPHY RICHARDS
This was a 7-week live project. The brief for this project was to design a consumer appliance with the intention of being manufactured and sold by Morphy Richards. I was allocated a vacuum cleaner to redesign. The design of this product should consider the principles of circular economy and should incorporate features which could extend the lifespan of the product. The problem I addressed was the lack of product maintenance being done by the consumer, I set about this by making the issue better known to the user and encouraging regular emptying and cleaning of the vacuum cleaner. As well as keeping the components separate and accessible to make it easier to send them back to Morphy Richards for repairs.
