DESIGN PRINCIPLES
SPEAKER PROJECT
This was a 5-week project. The aim of this project was to design a loud-speaker inspired by a London based postcode. We were each given the postcode of an area in London surrounding a design shop; I was allocated the postcode WC2B 5SG wherein the ARAM store is situated.
In my design, I wanted to incorporate the geometric shapes and vivid colours that were prominent in the area and so created the concept of a triangularly prism-like body. I was interested in how a series of smaller shapes could mesh together to create a solid body, this is shown in the cutouts on the front face of the speaker.

I chose a setting that I felt related to the target market as it's fresh, contemporary and inspiring. |
